You can request a quote through our website or by contacting us directly. Once we send your quote, simply click Accept to confirm you'd like to proceed. We'll reserve your equipment once the booking has been confirmed and payment has been arranged.

Payment is required before you collect your equipment. We'll provide payment details with your quote so everything is ready before pickup.

Blackslate is owned and operated by working filmmakers, not a large-scale rental warehouse.
The equipment we hire out is the same gear we use on our own commercial productions, so we know it inside and out. Every item is professionally maintained and supplied in production-ready condition.

No. Insurance is not included with your hire, and the hirer is responsible for any loss or damage while the equipment is in their possession.
For higher-value rentals, we may require you to hold your own equipment insurance. If equipment is damaged, it will be assessed and the cost of repair or replacement will be payable by the hirer. If you're arranging your own insurance, be sure to check your policy for any exclusions that may apply.

Equipment is collected from our Gold Coast location in Highland Park. We'll provide the pickup address and arrange a suitable collection time once your booking has been confirmed.

We only charge for your production days.
You can collect your equipment after 3PM the day before your rental starts and return it before 10AM the day after your rental ends, at no extra charge.
Collection and return times are by arrangement, so please let us know your preferred pickup time when confirming your booking.

Yes. We require a valid government-issued photo ID for every hire. You can email us a copy before your rental or bring it with you when collecting your equipment, and we'll make a copy then.

Generally, the person named on the rental agreement should collect the equipment. If someone else needs to collect on your behalf, please contact us beforehand so we can make suitable arrangements.
We will need to take a copy of the person’s photo ID during pickup. -

As a working production company, our team is sometimes out on location filming. If we're on a shoot, replies may take a little longer, but we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
