Showing a Product at Scale: The Bodd Commercial

The brief was straightforward: show Bodd's body scanner working across the industries it's built for. Not a single use case, not a controlled demo. A product commercial that communicated scope. The result was a multi-scene production featuring talent from seven industry settings: airlines, retail, emergency services, pharmacy, police, firefighting, and mining. Each scene placed the scanner in context, with actors in industry uniforms going through the scan process and the measurement data appearing on screen. Same product, five different worlds.

The Production Approach

Rather than filming on location across multiple sites, we built each environment in studio using light set dressing and industry-appropriate uniforms. It's an approach that keeps the production efficient without sacrificing the visual logic. The audience reads the context immediately, and the scanner stays the hero of every frame. This kind of controlled environment also means consistency. Lighting, camera angles, and the scan sequence itself could be dialled in once and carried across every scene, giving the final edit a cohesive look while still communicating breadth.

What the Commercial Needed to Do

Bodd's technology is a B2B product, but a product commercial still needs to work fast. The audience needs to understand what it does, who it's for, and why it matters, ideally before they've decided to keep watching. The multi-industry structure does that work efficiently. It tells a viewer in the first few cuts that this isn't a niche tool for one sector. It's a platform built for any workforce that needs accurate body data at scale. Airlines managing uniform programmes, emergency services fitting protective gear, mining operations handling safety equipment: the applications are different, the underlying value is the same. That's the kind of message that's hard to land in a single scene. Cutting across multiple of them makes it obvious.

Product Video as a Sales Tool

A well-made product video sits at the top of the sales funnel and does the heavy lifting before any conversation starts. For a technology product like Bodd's scanner, it answers the first question every potential client asks: does this apply to us? The answer, is yes.
